assignment #6
I chose Rev. Addie Aylestock as an influential African-Canadian because she was the first black female minister who served British methodist episcopal churches for over twenty years. She was born in Glenallen, Ontario and ministered in Toronto, Halifax and Owen sound. She attended the medical missionary college and the Toronto bible college while working in domestic service in Toronto. in 1951 Addie became the first ordained black woman in Canada and served in British methodist episcopal churches until she passed away in1988. That is her amazing contribution to the world. Click here to see one of the sites where i got this information. To see another site i researched click here.
